Roster Guidelines

Updated Monday July 9, 2018 by Rye Brook Youth Soccer.

The Board is always looking at the long-term growth and health of the Rye Brook Youth Soccer program.  Rye Brook Youth Soccer is a local club program and we want to encourage maximum participation whenever possible.  As our teams progress from U8 all the way through middle school and high school, a certain amount of attrition inevitably takes place. We want to create as many opportunities as we can to keep kids in the program and protect the long-term viability of many of our younger teams/players while still maintaining a competitive environment.

U8– We are planning to include Rye Brook in a Lower-Westchester-only division to help minimize travel.

U9 and U10  - Teams will  carry up to 14 players on a team, consistent with WYSL policy.  If the number of registrations exceeds 14 players, we will continue to allow up to 3 Developmental Players per team.  If we have 18 or more registrants we will have two teams.

  • Developmental players are identified through the annual evaluation process
  • Developmental players may withdraw from the program after the evaluation process is completed and receive a full refund
  • Developmental Players would participate in practices and be eligible to participate in clinics
  • Developmental Players would not be eligible for games, per WYSL roster limits
  • Developmental Player Fee would be $350 for the year (1/2 the normal fee)
  • Developmental Players may withdraw between the Fall and Spring season and receive a refund of $175
